Illidari Council Strategy — Black Temple

Phase 3 · Black Temple · 3-4 tanks, 6 healers, rest dps

A four-boss council fight — Gathios the Shatterer, High Nethermancer Zerevor, Lady Malande, and Veras Darkshadow — that share a health pool but each bring their own kit. They must die within seconds of each other, so DPS is balanced across all four while each is tanked and controlled separately.

Fight phases

  1. 1

    Single phase

Tank each council member apart: Gathios (paladin — interrupt Consecration/Blessing, kill his seals), Zerevor (mage — Blizzard/Flamestrike/Arcane, needs interrupts and a Spellsteal target), Malande (priest — heals the council, interrupt Heal and dodge Reflective Shield), Veras (rogue — vanishes and Envenoms a target). Bring all four low together and finish within moments.

By role

Tanks

One tank per member, kept far apart so abilities don't bleed across the raid. Gathios buffs the council — tank him where the raid can help strip/interrupt. Hold all four cleanly for a long fight.

Healers

Malande heals the council and shields herself (Reflective Shield punishes DPS) — interrupt her Heals. Veras poisons a random player with Deadly Poison stacks; Zerevor's Arcane Explosion and Malande's Reflective Shield add raid damage. Steady, distributed healing across four tanks.

DPS

Balance damage so all four hit low together — a single member dropping early wipes you (they empower on death / must die near-simultaneously). Interrupt Zerevor and Malande, avoid Reflective Shield, and burn in a coordinated final push.

Common mistakes

  • Unbalanced DPS — one member dies too early.
  • Not interrupting Malande's heals or eating Reflective Shield.
