High Warlord Naj'entus

High Warlord Naj'entus Strategy — Black Temple

Phase 3 · Black Temple · 1-2 tanks, 4-5 healers, rest dps

The Black Temple opener, a naga warlord with a hard mechanic gate. Naj'entus periodically shields himself (Tidal Shield) and impales players on Impaling Spines — the raid must free the impaled players with the dropped spines, and use a spine to break his shield before Hurl Damage detonates.

Fight phases

  1. 1

    Single phase

Tank Naj'entus; when a player is impaled, someone loots the Naj'entus Spine and clicks the impaled ally to free them. When he shields, hurl a spine at him to shatter it before the raid-wide Tidal Burst goes off.

By role

Tanks

Simple threat hold — face him away from the raid. Needle Spine (the AoE spine barrage) hits the whole raid, so this is more a coordination fight than a tank-damage one.

Healers

Impaled players take a heavy bleed until freed — keep them up until a spine removes it. The whole raid takes Needle Spine damage on a timer; steady raid healing throughout.

DPS

Assign spine-clickers: free impaled players fast, and break Tidal Shield with a spine every time it goes up — a missed shield break wipes the raid via Tidal Burst. Otherwise burn him down.

Common mistakes

  • Not breaking Tidal Shield in time — Tidal Burst wipes the raid.
  • Leaving impaled players unfreed to bleed out.
